  1. Hi Johan,

An interesting incident last at 01h00 today (Saturday 29th Jan 2007).

I (with partner) was on patrol driving down Bethal Rd from Valley Rd towards the river.

I noticed a vehicle of one of the residents turn into Bethal shortly after me and drive directly to her driveway where she stopped but did not enter.

I then noticed the dogs of another Bethal Rd resident were out in the road and his gate was opening. I saw it was him and his wife about to leave in their vehicle and thought little of it.

I passed them and drove into Lilford Road (off Bethal) and went to the end and back to Bethal to discover the lady had arrived home, got our of her vehicle to prevent her dogs interfering with the other neighbour’s dogs and had disturbed a young male hiding in the bush right next to her driveway.

He had taken off rapidly when seeing all the traffic around, crossing the river.

I reported immediately to Watchcon… then Disa Adam (I think) from Riverside came on the radio confirming someone on his side of the river.

The suspect got away as no vehicle could reach the other side of the river quick enough.

Point is… the tactic of someone waiting in bushes beside gate with what intent? To enter property unseen after vehicle has entered, or to attack the person getting out of vehicle?

    Regards,

    (Disa) Cedric
