wont be for long i'm sure. This mornings NSRI alert was interesting. Now that i've had time to think about it, its clear that the position of the boats being watched from land, estimated at 600m was more like 3 or 4 km as i observed from the beacon on the top of chapmans. I guess its almost impossible to judge the distance from a low angle.
ReplyDeletethe HNWBis very often not up-to-date anyway.
ReplyDeleteTake last week - do you really think that NOTHING has happened for several days?
Not sure what you mean 'Anonymous' There are a number of incidents listed for last week. Where are these several days without incident?
ReplyDeleteHi Jeremy, HBNW certainly saved fuel and time for the NSRI guiding them in to the spot. In other circumstances the would have been faced with a 5 to 8 hour search! Suspects have to be one of the two boats they were guided to!
ReplyDeleteagreed. It's quite awesome to watch a rescue boat turn based on our radio comms from shore (even if they were a bit confused). Glad we had justin to link into the marine channel. Maybe HBNW should sponsor a radio for the NSRI base?
