12h58 Metro 1 detain a young Bravo male for attempting to rob a female tourist of a camera on the beach. SAPS respond. It seems the beach or street cleaning crew collared the criminal. The suspect is known for criminal type behaviour.

14h20 Charlie male dressed in blue jeans, white t-shirt and blue cap, trespassing in Gordon Rd N’shore. HBNW, SSP’s respond. Mariners Wharf not on the air despite repeated calls. Seems like Edward Kriel? on the loose again. 14h24 CH makes contact and suspect runs. Radio reports repeatedly ‘ping’ the suspect and guide responders in. 14h37 SAPS arrive to assist.

Thursday Incidents

0h00 to 03h00 Poachers very active around the harbour. SAPS respond. A number of red flares launched. Flares seem to be originating from the harbour village. It’s possible these are used to distract authorities or warn poachers of activity by authorities. A number of poachers were arrested around Robben Island last night and the activity in Hout Bay may be connected.

This May Interest Parents

A teenager was robbed of her cellphone at gunpoint by three coloured males whilst she was standing at end of Vans Road alongside Blue Route shopping centre, awaiting collection by her mother and lift home to Constantia after attending the cinema at the Blue Route. The attackers ran off into Windsor Road and disappeared. ADT and SAPS called to scene.

Some pics of a suspicious vehicle we pulled over a few weeks with SAPS. 4 gents were cruising the area doing the rounds and did not know we had them tailed. They continued doing several circuits. They employed the usual trick, that is only the driver was visible and the other 3 were lying flat on the seats. Therefore only when we pulled them over did we realise there were 4 of them.

The one chap was positively identified in HBay at the shopping centre near Chapmans Peak Hotel in a white hatchback (Pictured) with 3 other Bravo males at approx 11am today ( 7th Feb) - cruising slowly.
Please be on the lookout for this vehicle and occupants. CA377311 when seen in Hout Bay / CA622056 when seen in Tamboerskloof

10h48 Delta6 collars a regular. “Tamanza” arrested in Whittlers Way, Hughenden breaking into a car.

11h01 ## Luisa Way House break-in. Suspects unknown. SAPS respond. The white Nissan Pickup (four occupants) in the photograph was seen leaving the area at high speed. There is no evidence other than ‘circumstance’ to connect them to the event.

12h03 ADT6 reports a group of young Charlies driving recklessly CA330873 (Daewoo?) SAPS unable to assist. Metro unable to assist as it’s a moving violation.

Many Hands Make Light Work, Updated

Within 30 minutes of yesterday’s blackout HBNW, CERT and SAPS were on the streets targeting vulnerable areas with extra patrols. There were just a couple of attempted break-ins but swift response by Cert, HBNW and particularly SAPS gave criminals very little room to maneuver. SAPS responses to calls were exemplary with excellent backup and follow up of even the most minor calls. All calls were attended to while still dealing with all the usual CSC traffic and the trend has continued through the week end.

SAPS reported a number of known housebreakers were out on foot and in vehicles. One regular was picked up and detained. CH assisted reservists lighting up intersections where vehicle bourn criminals were left in no doubt that exit and entry to Hout Bay was being monitored. Some patrollers were out on foot monitoring known criminal access routes.

10h30 A worker returning to his room was robbed of his cell phone by a group of three Bravo males in Hilton Rd. The group were seen on camera and appeared to have exited via the Disa River crossing on Bethal and into Valley Rd. HBNW, Delta, ADT and SAPS responded immediately. A knife used in the robbery was recovered and taken in. The response missed these criminals by seconds. No one found.
