  1. Last week i understood it was de Koker (Jeremy?) that we caught on the beach, knife in hand after a bit of churchgoing. Is he out already?

  2. I am frustrated with the system. Last year in September, whilst staying at Manor Gardens during building renovations, we were visited by JdeK. He was apprehended, I laid charges of tresspassing, was called to court, where I wasted a day because JdeK simply did not arrive, the magistarte issued a warrant for his arrest & I have never heard anything of it again & now he is walking around again

  3. why not do what they do in the USA?
Beat the hell out of this guy as a warning and order him to move out of Hout Bay
This system works in many states in the USA

  4. I remember the manor gardens incident - i think Mike Romeo caught him? I understand that the de koker from the beach was arrested last friday. He is one of a number of brothers so we may be talking different people. It just shows that we need to follow up the cases with SAPS. Thankfully i dont live in the states.

  5. MR responded to the call after he had been apprehended with the help of DB.
Who follows up with SAPS on outstanding cases? CPF, HBNW or the person laying charges?

  6. CPF do follow some incidents through and HBNW has tried as well but its obviously time consuming. Armed with a case/docket number its probably best to follow up yourself. The other option is to raise the question at a CPF meeting, or email one of the CPF people. Details are on www.houtbaycpf.org.za. The CPF is the main route to addressing issues and complaints to SAPS.

  7. you could also raise case follow up as a discussion topic on the hbnw site. www.watchcon.co.za and go to forums. Maybe that will get some answers.

  8. I’ve followed up a number of cases and it’s very unrewarding. First one has to track down the investigating officer as the one named on the card given at the time of reporting is always wrong. After a few days of leaving messages for the investigating officer, as he’s always out at court or otherwise. When one does make contact you may find the case was thrown out without you being informed. At times this was because the investigating officer never attended court or never bothered to oppose bail.

In cases where I’ve emailed relevant information or asked for information I’ve been ignored.
