Beach and Northshore Under Seige

Typical of the incidents taking place. Also read post on Tuesday 9th further down.

On Tuesday 9th June I parked my husband's car outside our garage - because it is hard to park in the garage and he was away. I was sure that I locked the car but obviously did not. At 2.30 in the morning the alarm went off - the exterior beams in front of the downstairs part of the house. When I woke up, the plugs in the house had tripped. I looked out of the window but the sensor lights weren't on, so I told ADT not to worry to come (thinking an insect had set off the beam or something).

In the morning when I opened the car door, someone had clearly been inside the car. Everything was thrown out of the cubby hole and side pockets. The windows were open (and I definitely shut them!). Strangely, there were 2 lemons on the driver's seat that had not been in the car! A lot of the rubbish from our black rubbish bin was spread over the driveway. Our garage door was not closing properly as if someone had tried to force it open. It was still dark as I leave for work quite early, so that was all I noticed. However, when I got home on Weds evening and it was light I saw that our outside sensor lights were no longer there. Probably what happened was that the intruder/so used the black rubbish bin to climb on whilst stealing the lights (hence the mess on the driveway), and the plugs tripped when they cut the lights. I am very happy that we have outside beams so that he/they ran away when the alarm went off!

I also discovered another lemon in the flower bed next to our front door, which is on a higher level than the garage, so he/they were also prowling around there. Goodness knows why he/they were going around with lemons and why they left this weird calling card in 2 different places. I'd love to know if anyone else has had lemons left on their properties!

I thought people should be aware that intruders are wandering around Northshore in the early hours of the morning. Our house is down a very long driveway and the car could not be seen at all from the road, so they were walking down looking for somewhere to break into, rather than for an open car - that was a side issue, and nothing was taken from the car.

  1. Surely you must know that the price of lemons has gone up 35% since Zuma took power?

  2. BN: Lemons have something to do with dogs ...... they hate lemons being squeezed near to their eyes or snouts

Isn't it time that all of HBNW converged on North Shore in support? 24/7

  3. BN: Sadly not too many keen. I will support someone who steps up to organise a North Shore Beach Estate 24/7 blitz

  4. No Ops are planned by SAPS as far I know. Only comments I've seen are Capt.B saying in the Sentinel 3 weeks ago that NS/and BE must 'wake up'. My opinion is that NS/BE are patrolling more than most sectors and the eyes and ears are out there reporting numerous strollers and incidents but the teeth remain deep in the glass on the bedside table!
