  1. What is SAPS & CPF doing / going to do about this desperate situation in Sandy Place, Heights. Imagine being forced to leave & abandon your home through the terror of being robbed daily let alone being robbed 3 times in one day. Maybe we will be next. Maybe you will be next. Now is the time to do something about this

  2. maybe the question that should be asked is - what are you (being the residents of that area) doing about it ?
Its very easy to abdicate your responisbility and blame someone else - does not solve anything tho.....!

  3. Steve I think you know the answer to your question. I have no way of knowing if the victim blames anyone or has abdicated his responsibility. I'm assuming you refer to the Sandy Place resident?

We are eyes and ears only so it stands to reason the there's not much to abdicate. Citizens of this country gave up the right to kill for justice many many years ago and handed the job of dealing with crime to the state.

How about suggesting a constructive, workable solution for this area.

  4. I have never, nor will I ever suggest that citizens 'kill for justice', but I do believe that citizens can be proactive in securing themselves.
And that does not necessarily mean employing a security company, or expecting 'someone else' to do something about it - that IS abdicating responsibility in my mind !

Until the residents of an area are willing to become involved in a committed and sustained manner.....you are always going to be a target.
And if you think that crime can be eradicated, you are smoking socks or something, BUT, that does not mean that a community/individual cannot do something about it.

Again, the point is, its not somebody else, it is the individual and community who has to take up the responsibility!
    Just my opinion.

As for the constructive workable solution, I am no 'guru' but I, and you know just as well as I do that there are MANY others, who would gladly try and help someone who has raised his hand, and is serious about trying to do something about crime in the community.
