SAPS report an increase in the number of vehicle break-ins (TOOV) especially in the Pondicherry and Old SAPS station areas.

Thursday.
SAPS report new TOOV incidents at Mariners Wharf parking area and Glenellen Farm. Suspect are thought to be Bravo youngsters on bicycles (unconfirmed)

Hughenden Intruder

At 18h17 on Monday 23rd we had this intruder on premises. We have electric fencing and think that he either climbed a tree and jumped into the property or scaled the 2m gate. I had just arrived home and I was feeding my dogs at the time and heard a strange voice calling out, the dogs ran around the house and he was trapped inside my property. I shouted what are you doing and my house mate from our cottage went out...he was high or drunk. I pressed panic and then all buttons in my panic and the gate opened and my house mate chased him out . ADT was quick to respond but unfortunately he got away towards the open entrance to the broken gate at the top of Hughenden. Adt was responding at the time to an intruder opposite, could be the same guy. He dropped a wallet, blue Liberty life with cash caddy on opposite side. We will look for his shirt tomorrow? He was standing with his hands on his head saying 'I am innocent' when my house mate was holding him at the gate. He was out of breath as if running...hair is shaven, bravo male young.

03h27 SAPS with assistance from DB detain (arrest?) two burglars in the Heights. Excellent work by Inspector Sebastian.

07h00 Break-in at # Princess St. Computers etc. stolen. Trellidoor forced.

23h04 Positive break-in at River View, Baviaanskloof. Hole cut in fence and back door forced, goods liberated. Incident happened between 15h00 and 23h00.

10h33 SAPS report a resident chasing a house-breaker wearing a blue overall and black beanie, from Penzance toward IY. Long story….SSP’s and HBNW respond. 10h40 DB detain two suspects near the Copshop where they are positively identified and arrested! 7 minutes.

11h01 Suspicious Vehicle CA695184 Conquest, cruising in Empire. Eventually drove into IY.

Friday 04h10 Constantia. Silver Toyota, tinted windows involved in a robbery. No registration number available. A similar vehicle was involved in another Constantia driveway robbery recently.

The vehicle below has been lurking in the Constantia area.

Toyota Yaris 3-door hatchback, silver - CA 283 599 !FALSE PLATES! please report sightings immediately The registration number actually belongs to a red Golf.

The pictures were available minutes after the crime was commited. I asked for copies straight away but was warned I'd need clearance before posting them. I have no idea why but they may have reason to withold pictures if they know the identity of the criminals involved and want to keep them in the dark. As the investigating officer has made no attempt to distribute the pictures he must have solved the case.

0h42 CA117812 Red Citi Golf occupied by two Bravo males hovering on the corner of Park Ave and Luisa Way. 0h43 Vehicle leaves the area.

09h34 Resident reports a break-in at # Princess St. Additionaly copper pipe and stopcocks servicing the property from Victoria Ave stolen.

12h18 Bravo / Charlie male in blue jeans and tartan cap, trespassing in Albert road running off toward Mountain when confronted.

Thursday Incidents

01h03 NSBB. Attempted break-in at the Law Enforcement office (gravel park near old Copshop) Suspects thought to be four Charlie males seen hanging around the office by Northshore patrol earlier and sent packing by ADT.

03h02 Guard in the harbour reports thieves lifting goods from a vessel in the harbour. SAPS asked to attend. Nothing further.

11h17 ADT. ### Albert Rd. Intruder wearing a yellow jacket jumps a wall and tries to enter the house. Domestic spots him and he leaves jumping into a maroon car with a CFR registered Camry?

12h44 CH. Shoplifter nabbed at Engen garage.

13h20 ## Chestnut. Four Bravo males in a white Toyota Corolla CA484761 use the vehicle? to try and force a driveway gate open. They seem to have taken off when they realized someone was home. Good response from SSP’s HBNW and SAPS.

This vehicle has apparently been involved in 2 incidents in the BKM Watch(Bergvliet Kreupelbosch Meadowridge) area in the last two days. Incidents are as follows.

1. A bright orange (Chico) golf came out of Gumtree Road. The vehicle turned right into Starke and stopped on the corner on the wrong side of the road. I passed the car and saw 3 occupants. I proceeded up Starke and I saw that the orange vehicle had switched its lights off and had then driven into the other side of Gumtree. I turned around and followed the car up Dreyersdal, turned left into Childrens Way then right into Starke and at that point he knew he was being followed. He turned around at the intersection of Airlie Road I proceeded past and saw a person in a white top and dark pants get out of the car and run down Airlie (South direction). [...] The car is very distinctive ORANGE. "

2. As resident was talking to visitor in driveway, an Orange Citi-Golf pulled up. Coloured male in early 20's got out and threatened persons with "firearm" demanding hand bag etc. Driver of golf was coloured male in mid 40's. Third person, passenger appeared to be of darker complexion. Thieves took brown wallet and orange cell phone then left. SAPS, ADT and patrollers responded very quickly and searched the area as well as main exit points. Refer to previous reports of an orange Citi-Golf acting suspiciously. They could be linked."

23h45 Sunday. DB guard spots suspicious activity on a fishing vessel near Chapmans Peak Fishing. DB and ADT Respond. 23h55 ADT7 apprehends a Toyota Cressida ,heading to IY, with a boot load of fish in Oxford St. SAPS asked to attend.

03h38 ADT1 Break-in in progress at Bergvlei/t? between Howberry and Glenellen, Main Rd. Three Bravo suspects ran off when spotted while entering through a window. 03h59 RD spots two suspects coming out of the river area. Suspects detained but could not be connected to the incident. 04h30 RD back to bed.

08h22 ADT. 3 armed bandits rob the Caltex Service Station of cash. 1 Charlie and two Bravo males. One in blue overalls, one in a leather jacket and one in a striped jersey. All three left on foot in the direction of Shoprite Checkers. Excellent response from ADT, DB and Coastal along with HBNW and SAPS. Despite an extensive search no one found.

Monday Incidents

02h57 A guard in the area of 7/11 stabbed 3 times. 03h06 Suspect seen running on the beach toward Chappies armed with a knife. 03h07 SSP’s apprehend the suspect near the toilets. SAPS asked to attend. 03h32 Suspect breaks free while waiting for SAPS. 03h35 suspect reprehended. Arrested suspect is part of a group of three youngsters!

Bicycle Story 30th May

A person was stopped with this very expensive Colnago bicycle in his possession. His explanation as to where he had aquired it from was not satisfactory. Hout Bay SAPS have taken possession of the bike pending the outcome of our attempt to discover whether someone has reported it as stolen. Do you recognize it?

Saturday 23h07 White Opel bakkie, tinted windows CA596562? driven by a Whiskey youngster takes off from the top of Victorskloof after hurling abuse at a patroller. Motive unknown.

Sunday 0h57 While patrolling Hilton at 02h00 a transaction (delivery) may have taken place. A dark Audi A3? CA311640 driven by a Bravo male dropped off something at a residence. Vehicle left HB via Constantia Nek.

23h10 Suspect dressed in black thought to have entered Tierboskloof close to the guard house. Nothing further.
