Although this is not the same visitor I had it's exactly as I saw him below my house on the Disa River below Bokkemanskloof day before yesterday. DisaKonrad saw him a few minutes later on the river path close to his house. I know it's not crime related but I'm sure he's nabbed a chicken or two in his time and he was equipped with night vision. I have seen rooikat higher up the Disa river near Orangekloof - according to the Nature Conservation chaps at Orangekloof rooikat are a fairly common sight, even on the lower reaches of the slopes close to Main Road. You're lucky to have a visitor such as this, Johann. It's encouraging to see that we still have SOME wild life left in the valley! Thanks for the post.
ReplyDeleteI've seen two in the past, unfortunately the first was dead in the road at the Nek and the other was crouching next to the road at 4 in the morning. I was never sure if anyone believed me!
