Wednesday Incidents. Bokkemanskloof

0h50 On camera. Two suspects running up Blue Valley Close toward Bokkemanskloof. Both wearing beanies, one in black long sleeve top and trousers the other in lighter clothing. Black trousers not wearing gloves. Both appear to be empty handed.

03h14 Watchcon. Bokke woken on sleep channel reporting intruders at X Canlewood goods stolen. Back door forced. Various Bokke, SAPS and SSp’s respond. Positive break in at “Northoaks” time unknown.

03h30 Two suspects spotted on camera (see picture) running onto Disa River path via Blue Valley Close. These are the same two recorded at 0h50. Black trousers now wearing lighter short sleeved golf shirt and white gloves. Partner is carrying a bag and may have one glove on. 03h46 Same two spotted on Well Way camera and short sleeves is now carrying the bag, maybe because it’s heavy?

04h08 Bokke report lights on mountain above Bokkemanskloof pipetrack. R.D. assists with night vision. SAPS search for suspects spotted above Hughenden pipetrack using the dog unit at the same time. Nothing found.

05h49 Everyone stands down. Nothing further.

One of the two left distinctive “Waffle” footprints despite the rain. The prints were found in BV Close, on the path outside Disa Nursery and all along the Bokkemans fence line below the pipetrack from the ravine to X Candlewood and beyond. I never went closer to Northoaks as we had not been notified of that incident at the time but it’s likely the two had come along the fence line from there. The fence at X Candlewood had it’s razor wire topping neatly trimmed in one spot and there is a white glove hanging in the razors. The second crook’s shoes must have had smooth soles as his prints were very difficult to see.

  1. The suspect in the picture (the one in front)was spotted on Monday Morning at around 7am in Plumtree Close, Meadows (off Whittlers/Hughendon) looking over walls and into gardens and reported by us to Watchcon.

  2. SAPS and Bokke HBNW confirmed seeing lights (cellphone?) above the pipe track. It will be worth checking what Insp S actually saw as he also confirmed a sighting. The timing of this would indicate that the 2 on the river and the suspect(s) above the pipe track are not the same. Maybe the MO is to put an observer on the pipe track to advise (by cell) the guys going shopping?

  3. Ins S pretty well bumped into his suspects. I'll take a picture to him tonight when he's again on duty

  4. It seems there were 3 groups operating at the same time in the same area. Ins S, after viewing the video confirms his contact was different to the BVClos pair and that also leaves the suspects above the Bokke pipetrack unidentified
